Flying in smaller Mew.
Removed bandage w/ Duoderm. There was yellow exudate over the wound, when cleaned there is a thick bed of granulation tissue over the medial and ventral aspect of the humerus wound. Since the tissue is so thick, opted to clean and switch to Silver Gel to let it scab and hopefully heal up.
When investigating, there is also a scab over the patagial tendon dorsally in that area. When gently debrided the tendon is exposed. Cleaned quickly, slightly debrided edges, and closed skin w/ 2 sutures in 4-0 PDS.
Based on previous experience, I do not think these sutures will hold, but hopefully the area will scab over and he will retain flight anyway.
Took pictures of all. Silver Gel over both wounds every 2-3 days. Check in 7 days. Continue medications - I think at this point it is all right to d/c Enrofloxacin and stay with Clindamycin, it is a decent antibiotic for skin. Dr Gardner

bled through, removed.  Scrubbed and flushed wound and surrounding
feathers.  Removed small area of dead tissue from proximal end
of wound.  Part of the same skin looks dead but is still slightly
attached, left alone for now.  Small area of bone still exposed
but wound is closing very nicely. Covered wound with telfa coated
in Medihoney gel.  Covered this with tegaderm.  Woke up quickly
from ISO.

 There is an upper area of skin that looks like it needs to be
removed.  Left for now. Scrubbed and flushed around wound to
clean skin.  Covered with remainder of Manuka, only covered the
upper 1/2, cover lower half with Medihoney.  Covered area with
telga and tegaderm.  Woke up very quickly from ISO.

Brought inside and anesthetized for exam.
No bandage in place, wounds are scabbed. The cranial surface of the mid-humerus appears to be healing with minimal raw tissue underneath, but the scab on the ventral humerus started to pull away when wing was extended and lifted up.
Gently removed and trimmed scab. There was a small amount of yellow fibrinous tissue present, but most fresh raw tissue. No bony exposure. Due to the fibrinous material opted to use Manuka honey patch for debridement. Placed that over open area, coloplast over scabbed area. Telfa and Tegaderm.
P: Bandage change every 2-3 days, once clean switch back to Coloplast.

Wound Recheck, Left Midshaft Humerus:
Patient placed under general anesthesia. The mid medial left humerus area there is healing soft tissue wound present.
There is full coverage of the humeral bone at this exam. There is new dermal tissue forming over the humerus. The margins of the dermis was gently cleansed and trimmed with sterile scissors to remove the excess loose tissue.
On more proximal margin when he dermis was trimmed a focal opening in the dermis occurred. A small drop of tissue adhesive was placed to close this area.
Telfa pad, Teguderm covering. No other external bandage.

Recheck recommended in 5-7 days.

Anesthetized for wound care. Removed Tegaderm to expose wound. I am not sure where there was bone exposure - I am assuming the ventral aspect of the wound, around the bottom of the humerus - but today there is pink tissue over that area. There is still a fairly large amount of yellow skin over the cranial aspect of the humerus, that needs to declare itself.
